The Advanced Bariatric Center is a high-volume Center of excellence (as designated jointly with our local hospitals by the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (through their affiliate corporation, the Surgical Review Corporation)) at which Drs. Swartz and Felix have performed over 5000 bariatric operations.

We have recently added our Comprehensive Medical Weight Loss Program, an intensive six-month program involving our multidisciplinary team composed of our Clinical Psycholo gist, Nutritionist, Fitness Trainer in addition to Dr. Swartz who oversees this program. We offer regularly scheduled nutrition classes, new patient seminars, fitness training sessions, and lifestyle counseling for our surgical patients in our classroom.

On site we have a dual-photon absorptiometry bone scanner, indirect calorimeter and our nutrition store where patients may purchase multivitamin, essential mineral supplements and a variety of protein supplements. Our clinical psychologist, Dr. Russell, conducts complete psychologic evaluations and therapeutic individual and, in the near future, group sessions at our office. Our local support group of surgical patients also meets regularly at our office.

We offer lifelong follow-up of our patients, 24/7 on-call by either Dr. Swartz or Felix for our patients and the ability to streamline preoperative patient care to avoid lengthy waiting periods. At the Advanced Bariatric Center, our strength is our dedicated personnel. Our physicians are highly trained in advanced laparoscopic surgery, bariatric surgery, endoscopic surgery, and bariatric medicine (medical weight loss). They have a combined four decade experience in patient care. Our allied health professionals include our licensed clincial psychologist, certified fitness trainer and registered dietician who specializes in obesity and weight loss. Our office staff are warm, professional and experienced in medical and administrative assistance.
